2B BRENT BUTLER went 4-for-5 with a pair of homers and three RBI in a 12-11 win over Iowa August 27. 3B GARRETT ATKINS also had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and four RBI...

SS CLINT BARMES hit safely in 16 straight games (26-60, 4 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 1 SB) August 8-22....

TULSA... OF CORY SULLIVAN lengthened his hitting streak to 22 games with a single in the Drillers' 11-1 loss to San Antonio August 27. Sullivan finished 1-for-4 with a fourth-inning single. The Wake Forest University product did have one streak broken on Wednesday, failing to score a run for the first time in eight games...

2B JAVIER COLINA went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a pair of home runs and four RBI on August 21 in an 8-4 win against Round Rock...

OF MATT HOLLIDAY's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning sent his team to a 5-4 win and four-game sweep of Round Rock August 23...

3B ANDY TRACY went 4-for-4 with a double, homer and two RBI on August 25 in a 5-4 win against San Antonio. He was leading the loop with a .564 slugging percentage while ranking second in batting (.306) through August 27....

VISALIA... LHP JEFF FRANCIS continued his dominance pitching at home with eight outstanding innings in the Oaks' 4-1 victory over San Jose August 22. Francis yielded a first-inning run, scattered four hits and posted double-digit strikeouts for the third time this season with 10 en route to improving to 11-9 on the year. It was the second time in his last three starts he recorded double-digit strikeouts. He remained undefeated over his last 11 outings at home. Over that span, Francis was 7-0 with a 1.41 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 76 1/3 innings...

DH COREY SLAVIK was tied for fourth in the league in batting (.323), tied for fourth in on-base percentage (.392) and was named to the league's all-star team. Manager Stu Cole earned Manager of the Year honors, guiding his team to the best second-half record in the North Division (40-24) through August 27....

ASHEVILLE... 1B DUKE SARDINHA hit an RBI double and scored on a single by OF JEFF SALAZAR as the Tourists scored twice in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat August, 8-6, August 22. DH NICK GRETZ belted a grand slam during a five-run first inning. On August 24, Salazar hit a three-run double during a nine-run bottom of the eighth inning as the Tourists rallied for a 12-5 victory over the GreenJackets. C HAL BIBEE and 3B DAN STREET each had two of the club's nine hits during the big inning...

RHP UBALDO JIMINEZ won his 10th game of the year with seven strong innings as the Tourists pounded Hickory, 13-1, August 27. Jiminez, who took a one-hit shutout into the seventh inning, allowed one run and four hits, striking out seven and walking one, to win his fourth straight decision. OF RYAN SPILLBORGHS had four hits and two walks in six trips to the plate, scoring three times, and 3B DAN STREET knocked in four runs as Asheville produced its highest run total since June 14...

Sardinha hit safely in 15 straight games (22-62, 10 2B, 3 HR, 13 RBI) August 9-25....

TRI-CITY... RHP BRIAN LYNCH allowed just an unearned run and four hits over seven innings against Boise August 21. Lynch, who struck out seven, was not involved in the decision, a 2-1 loss in 14 frames...

3B CHRISTIAN COLONEL hit an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Hawks, 1-0, August 22. LHP AARON MARSDEN allowed just three hits over seven scoreless innings in the no-decision. Marsden was second in the league with a 1.91 ERA through August 27...

OF BRETT SPIVEY hit the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the ninth inning and the Dust Devils beat Yakima, 9-7, August 24. Spivey also clubbed a two-run homer in the sixth....

CASPER... OF FLORENTINO NUNEZ hit three doubles (3-4, 3 RBI) on August 21 in a 10-8 win against Billings. He also hit safely in 12 straight games (20-49, 6 2B, 3 3B, 11 RBI, 2 SB) August 13-27, raising his average from .207 to .261...

OF JOHN RESTREPO hit safely in 13 straight games (22-59, 3 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 4 SB) August 8-24...

3B IAN STEWART hit .420 (21-50, 6 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 13 RBI, 1 SB) in 13 games August 11-26. He was fifth in the league in slugging (.568) through August 27....
