Outlook
The Gophers already took itself out of postseason play with a self-imposed ban in the wake of its ugly academic fraud scandal. Truth is, this Gophers team would have struggled to get an NIT berth anyway. The backcourt is a huge question mark. The Gophers lost 37.8 points per game from departed seniors Quincy Lewis and Kevin Clark. The scandal broke just before Minnesota’s NCAA first-round loss to Gonzaga. Coincidentally, Monson was guiding that surprising Gonzaga squad.
