Ohio State
1998-99 record
27-9, 12-4 Big Ten, lost to Connecticut in NCAA national semifinals
Coach
Jim O'Brien, 35-31 (2 years at Ohio State), 270-248 overall (17 years)
Projected starting lineup
F George Reese, 6-7, Sr.
Averaged 19.1 minutes off the bench last season.

C Ken Johnson, 6-11, Sr.
Solid rebounder and shot blocker (100 blocks last season) who worked to improve his offense in offseason.

G Brian Brown, 6-3, So.
Took over as starter in a three-guard lineup late last season.

G Michael Redd, 6-6, Jr.
Great scorer in Buckeyes' up-tempo attack.

G Scoonie Penn, 5-10, Sr.
Led team in steals, assists and clutch shots.

Top guy off the bench
G Boban Savovic, 6-6, So.
Decent outside shooter who averaged 12 minutes per game last season.
Key Newcomer
F Slobodan Ocokoljic, 6-8, Fr.
Expected to provided needed frontcourt depth and some points off the bench.
Key Games
Nov. 16 vs. Notre Dame
Dec. 16 at Kansas
Jan. 29 vs. Purdue
Outlook
The Buckeyes might have contended for an NCAA title if 7-3 Aleksander Radojevic, a Juco transfer, hadn't been ruled ineligible for taking a payment for playing for a Yugoslavian club team. The Buckeyes have arguably the best backcourt in the nation, but questions remain about their bench and inside depth.
