USC
1998-99 record
15-13 overall, 7-11 Pac-10 (lost to Wyoming in NIT first round)
Coach
Henry Bibby, 41-43 (3 years at USC)
Projected starting lineup
G Brandon Granville, 5-9, So.
Leading returning assist-maker in Pac-10 with 5 a game. Also led USC in steals (1.9).

Jeff Trepagnier, 6-4, Jr.
A leaper who averaged 11.8 points and 5.4 rebounds last year; averaged 16.4 points and 10.4 rebounds in last five games.

C Brian Scalabrine, 6-9, Jr.
Might be recognized on national scene this year after averaging 14.6 points and 6.4 rebounds.

F David Blumenthal, 6-7, So.
Should help Trojans on the boards.

F Sam Clancy, 6-7, So.
Topped Pac-10 in blocked shots last year, will mix it up inside.

Top guy off the bench
Jarvis Turner, 6-8, Sr.
Only senior on team, provides scoring and rebounding in reserve.
Key Newcomer
Rashad Jones, 6-2, San Jose, Calif.
JC transfer will give Granville plenty of support in backup point guard role.
Key Games
vs. North Carolina (Nov. 22 in Maui Invitational). Trojans should be revved up for Tar Heels, but could be buried regardless fo their emotional state.
vs. UCLA (Jan. 12). Cross-town rivlary looks to favor Bruins again.
Outlook
With Trepagnier, Granville and Scalabrine, Trojans capable of beating many teams if all play to their potential. USC still has look of a .500 team that might eke into NIT again.
